2010 Titans Season Comes To An End

The 2010 Season was certainly a memorable one. Although the wins and loses were not where the players and coaches wanted them to be, there were some bright spots. Senior leadership was alive and well as were some surprising superstars. Santi Lopez and Anthony Hernandez pitched the way to a big win against King early on. Junior Ty Lawson played huge all year long leading the Titans in most offensive categories. Junior Pitcher Tyrone Miller struggled to get a win, right up until his best game of the year, against district powerhouse Brandon. And who could forget the Epic game at Disney's Wide World of Sports vs. Lake Brantley. Unbelievable game with unreal plays in a 9 inning marathon. Not all the plays went the Titans way in 2010, but they played hard and had fun. Head Coach Jason Gordon along with all his coaching staff want to thank all of the players for giving us your best each and every day. The Titans baseball program has moved forward in a big way in 2010. And the future as we see it looks very bright indeed. So for the last time for the 2010 season...GO TITANS!!!

Titans Lose Epic Game @ Disney

The Tampa Bay Tech Titans lost a great game to Lake Brantley 7-6 in 9 innings Friday after a valiant effort by all players involved. A bottom of the 7th play by short stop Ty Lawson, will live in high school baseball lore, led to extras. The Lake Brantley Patriots got an infield single to win it in 9. A great game and a great time was had by all.

more pictures to come...

Titans Begin Bright House Games at 4 PM

The Titans will play Orlando's Lake Brantley at the Bright House games at Disney's Wide World of Sports Friday at 4 pm. All fans are urged to cheer on the Titans from Orlando or from home. Good Luck Titans!!!

Titans SS Tyler Lawson Named 1st Team Western Conference

The Titans' SS Ty Lawson had one of the best seasons in Tampa Bay Tech's baseball history both offensively and defensively. Well, he is gaining some recognition for his tremendous season by being named to 1ST Team Western Conference in the National Division. Ty had a .446 batting average, .500 on base percentage, a .600 slugging percentage, and a .923 fielding percentage...and he's only a junior!!! Simply a great year from a great kid. Congrats Ty!!!

Titans Prepare For Bright House Games

The Tampa Bay Tech Titans are preparing this week for an exciting opportunity at Disney's Wide World of Sports this Friday. The Bright House games will take two Tampa teams...Tech and Alonso and face them off against two Orlando teams including Tech's opponent Lake Brantley. The game let's these good high school teams play on a MLB Spring Training home of the Atlanta Braves. It's very exciting and the Titans for one can't wait. All the action starts at 4 PM on Friday. So come out and enjoy all the fun action and as always...GO TITANS!!!

Tech Out Lasts Eastbay at Saladino

The Titans finally got on the board at the Saladino tournament and beat Eastbay 7-4 Tuesday morning. Tech got great pitching from Tyrone Miller, Anthony Hernandez, and Santi Lopez did enough to get the job done. The win concluded a tough week for the Titans who suffered tough losses to the reigning state champs Alonso and the very hot Freedom high school. The win is a nice building block for the Titans who face off in Orlando against Lake Brantley at Disney's Wide World of Sports next week.

Some Much Deserved Love From Our Local Media

Titans Fall in Extras

The Tampa Bay Tech Titans fell victim to some seriously questionable calls by the umpires in a 10- 8 loss in 8 innings on Tuesday. Tech overcame an early deficit to take a 8-5 lead in the middle innings. Relief pitcher Santi Lopez did an effective job right till the end. In the ending frame, several (for lack of a better term) AWFUL calls, helped the pesky Durant team tie the game and take it to extras. In the extra frame, the Titans got behind for good and were left with a confused feeling but a loss none the less. Great performances by all our seniors and Junior SS Ty Lawson as he continues to impress with batting average around .500. Tampa Bay Tech's next game is Friday at Eastbay. Come out and Support the Titans.

Titans Slay Goliath

The Tampa Bay Tech Titans got a huge win Saturday over the (14-2) district leader Brandon Eagles. Starting pitcher Tyrone Miller finally got a much deserved win after throwing a 2 run complete game against a very good Brandon lineup. Titans got 4 runs in the 5th inning off of two huge doubles by C DJ Morales and RF Daryl Richardson. The Titans also got great defensive play from SS Ty Lawson to button this huge win up for the Titans. The win ended a 2-1 week for Tech as they head down the homestretch of the season and head into the Saladino tournament next weekend. Great Win and Go Titans!!!

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Titans Give 100% and Beat Newsome

The Titans played very well and once again proved to be able to come back and win an important game 4-3 at Newsome. Tech got great defense all game long from everyone. Ty Lawson and Stephen Pinol provided great D up the middle and the rest of the diamond followed suit. The offense came around late and relief pitcher Santi Lopez shut the door. The Titans still play at Plant City and Brandon this week as the Saladino Tournament approaches.

Tech had the lead late but couldn't overcome a couple of huge hits by the Gryphons. The Titans next game is at home on Friday night @ 7 pm. Come out and support the Titans

Tech's Tyrone Miller Gets Some Press

Titan "Ace" Tyrone Miller hasn't had the wins on his side this year, but the Tampa Tribune has certainly noticed him. They gave the Riverview / Tampa Bay Tech game a great write up on Saturday morning (even though Tech lost) and put a huge picture of Ty on the article. Keep up the good work!

Friday, March 19, 2010

Tampa Bay Tech vs. Plant City Tonight

That game will resume at the end of the year at Newsome. As for tonight, the Titans play host to Plant City at 7 o'clock. Come out and support the Titans...and bring a jacket again!!!

Practice CANCELLED Today

Due to bad weather no practice today. Normal activities should resume tomorrow as expected.

Titans Lose a Pitchers Duel

Tampa Bay Tech couldn't get the big hit Tuesday night as they fell to Riverview 3-1. Patrique Peters pitched a great game, but it was for not as the Titans move to 2-2 for the season. A bases loaded RBI bunt by CJ Jackson was the only run a Titans could muster after having several chances throughout the game. The Titans next game is Friday at Wharton.

Monday, February 22, 2010

Bad News

The Annual Golf Tournament has been cancelled due to lack of interest with sponsorships. Thanks to everyone that tried hard to make this thing a success, but we have to move on. All money will be returned unless otherwise discussed by businesses. Thanks again everyone and GO TITANS!!!

Titans Get Thrilling 11 Inning Win vs. King

Tampa Bay Tech won their second dramatic game of the season after beating King 7-2 in 11 innings Saturday. Titans pitching gave up only 2 runs on 4 hits against a good Lions lineup, with great efforts from starter Santi Lopez, followed by Pat Peters and Anthony Hernandez. Things got testy between the two clubs after the game was tied in the bottom of the 7th by King, but as things calmed down, Titans hitters woke up and put the game out of reach with great base running by Steven Pinol and CJ Jackson. Titans move to 2-1 entering their 2nd week of games. Go Titans. Great Win!!!

Friday, February 19, 2010

Early Mistakes Plague Titans

The Tampa Bay Tech Titans lost game 2 Friday night 7-3 to Armwood in a well played game by both teams. First inning mistakes plagued the Titans as they were unable to overcome the early hole they were in. Starter Tyrone Miller pitched well enough to win, but the Titans couldn't secure the late inning heroics. DH Buster Hickman launched a 7th inning HR to get the game moving but it was for not as the Titans couldn't come back on last year's state finalists. Tech look to get back on the winning track tomorrow as they play at King at 1 pm.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Titans Win Game 1 With A Walk Off

It took awhile for the clutch hits to come, but they did in fact show up in time for the Titans to win game 1 of the 2010 regular season over Lennard High School. Tech had no trouble getting runners on base, but they couldn't score most of them as the game went into the late innings down with the Titans down 6-2. In the bottom of the 6th, the runs came with a huge clutch triple by SS Ty Lawson. With the game tied heading into the bottom of the 7th, who else but Lawson to deliver the walk off double scoring catcher DJ Morales husting from 1st base giving the Titans the 7-6 victory. Great game Titans!!!

Simply an incredible game was for not as the Titans lost the preseason opener Wendesday night 2-1. Santiago Lopez hit a game tying no-hit ruing MOONSHOT in the top of the 7th to tie the game. Great pitching by starter Tyrone Miller followed by Kishon Kumar and Owen Sarwatka was foiled by a questionable call to allow the winning run to score in the bottom of the 9th.

Here r some pics from the game.
